Happy 50th Anniversary to National Nutrition Month! It is an annual campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 1973. During this month, everyone is invited (and encouraged) to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthy habits.The theme this year is "Fuel for the Future." It focuses on eating with sustainability in mind and protecting the environment as we nourish ourselves. Eatright.org has a list of "50 Ideas to Get Involved in National Nutrition Month®." Happy Down Syndrome Day! A few years back Meaningful Movies Project Manager, Melinda Raebyne, had the honor to create a PSA for the Down Syndrome Community, where she met Holly, Brad and Devon. Three of the most beautiful, caring and inspirational young adults who opened her eyes to the possibility of "what if". The link to the full version is available in the YouTube description. THIS IS ME tells the story of individuals with Down Syndrome who are currently employed. Join us tonight! Are you a gardener or plant lover? As spring is about to begin, do you want to learn more about the relationship between plants and insects, and what you can do to support a healthy environment? Join Mt Baker, First Church, and West Seattle Meaningful Movies for a conversation about the movies INSECT APOCALYPSE and WHY LAWNS MUST DIE. You can choose to watch these two short videos on your own, in advance of our event, or you can watch them with us as a group tonight (March 16th). We will start at 6PM on Zoom with a quick introduction and then we will watch the short videos together. Next, at approximately 6:30, we will have a community conversation about the films. We will be joined by climate activist and native plant hero, Andrea O’Ferrall; and native plant experts Marcia Smith, Chris Fuentes, and Bibi Powell.
