Ultimate Citizen is the story of an underdog team of kids on their way to compete in the world’s largest youth ultimate frisbee tournament. It is a celebration of youth resilience from award-winning filmmaker Francine Stickwerda. The documentary offers a vision of a more welcoming America. You often hear Jamshid saying to people, “I’m so glad you’re here.” Ultimate highlights the crucial role schools—and school counselors play in supporting children and families. School counselors provide safe spaces, mental health support, coping skills, and resources that empower children to overcome adversity and thrive.

Join us for the screening and a community discussion to follow. We love to connect with our neighbors around meaningful movies.

Winner of the Best Feature Documentary Jury Award at the West Sound Film Festival in Bremerton WA, the Spokane International Film Festival and many, many more.
