SUMMARY:Online Discussion of "Whose Streets?"
DESCRIPTION:Told by the activists and leaders who live and breathe this mov
ement for justice\, "Whose Streets?" is an unflinching look at the Ferguso
n uprising. When unarmed teenager Michael Brown is killed by police and le
ft lying in the street for hours\, it marks a breaking point for the resid
ents of St. Louis\, Missouri. Grief\, long-standing racial tensions and re
newed anger bring residents together to hold vigil and protest this latest
tragedy. Empowered parents\, artists\, and teachers from around the count
ry come together as freedom fighters. As the National Guard descends on Fe
rguson with military grade weaponry\, these young community members become
the torchbearers of a new resistance.\n\nWatch the film (for 99 cents) on
Amazon or Youtube.  Also available on Kanopy via the library.   Email m
eaningfulmoviesspokane@gmail.com to get the Zoom link for the discussion w
hich will start at 7:00 (Pacific Time) on Wednesday\, July 8.
