SUMMARY:The Librarians
DESCRIPTION:Join Meaningful Movies Ballard for a virtual screening of "The
 Librarians".\n\nFrom Oscar-nominated Director and Producer Kim A. Snyder (
"Death By Numbers\," “Newtown\,” “Us Kids”) and Executive Producer
Sarah Jessica Parker\, “The Librarians” takes viewers from Texas to F
lorida and beyond\, where local libraries have become unexpected battlegro
unds in a national struggle over parental control\, intellectual freedom\,
and democracy itself.  Sparked by the controversial “Krause List” in
  Texas\, which targets 850 books centered on race and LGBTQIA+ stories\, t
he film takes a deep investigative dive into the escalating movement again
st book banning. The film captures the courage and resilience of the every
day heroes\, librarians\, as well as concerned parents and students flanki
ng them\, who have become first responders in the fight for the freedom to
read\, standing defiantly against censorship at all costs.\n\nThis is a v
irtual event. Please RSVP to be invited to join the movie.\n\nA post-discu
ssion to follow featuring Brenna Shanks\, Teen Materials Selector for the
King County Library System.\n\nWhile the event is free\, a suggested $5 do
nation to support the screening is appreciated.\n\nMeaningful Movies Proje
