“The Devil We Know” is a 2018 investigative film that details the Dupont Company’s alleged decades-long cover-up of the potential harm caused by chemicals used to make Teflon products. The film, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, includes footage of news reports and corporate ads, along with testimony from scientists and activists. Dupont employees and West Virginia residents near the Dupont plant discovered the company had been dumping a toxic chemical – now found in the blood of 99.7 percent of Americans – into the local drinking water supply. Find out what happens when Dupont is challenged.

After the film, Toxic Free Future and Earth Ministry will share information, lead a discussion, and offer an opportunity to take action to help prevent companies from using toxic chemicals that harm our health and environment.

There will be free parking available in the church garage on the 5th floor and higher until 3 p.m. for people attending the Oct. 20 Meaningful Movies event.
