SUMMARY:The Call We Carry
DESCRIPTION:Meaningful Movies Tacoma &amp\; Gig Harbor is pleased to presen
t\, The Call We Carry - Confronting PTSD in the Fire Service\n\nThe Call W
e Carry follows the journey of 4 Tacoma Firefighters as they share their s
tories of pain\, sacrifice\, and resiliency in the midst of an unprecedent
ed call volume increase. The film provides an intimate glimpse into the li
ves of those who put it all on the line every day\, in an effort to prove
once and for all that NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE.\nIn a profession that few ever
see\, and even fewer understand\, a crisis is brewing among today’s firs
t responders. Over 37% meet clinical diagnosis for PTSD\, and most go untr
eated and even unrecognized. In a culture where showing vulnerability mean
s showing weakness\, this ground-breaking documentary attempts to break do
wn these barriers and smash the stigma of mental health in the fire servic
e.\nThe Event:\nA free community screening - all are welcome - followed by
a meaningful panel discussion with filmmakers\, special guests\, and loca
 l organizations. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-call-we-c

 m and inspiring conversation!
