SUMMARY:Paris to Pittsburgh
DESCRIPTION:As Seattle and other cities wrestle with how they can respond t
o the climate emergency\, "Paris to Pittsburgh" brings to life the impassi
oned efforts of individuals who are battling the most severe threats of cl
imate change in their own backyards. Set against the national debate over
the United States’ energy future – and the Trump administration’s ex
plosive decision to exit the Paris Climate Agreement – the film captures
what’s at stake for communities around the country and the inspiring wa
ys Americans are responding.\n\nIn the absence of federal leadership\, man
y of those solutions are being implemented at the local and state levels.
Our post-movie discussion with Maddie Smith of Earth Ministry and Amanda
Sorell of 350 Seattle will explore local solutions\, including the Green N
ew Deal for Seattle. Doors open at 6 p.m. for conversation and light refre
shments\; movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Free.\n\nDon't miss any of the films i
n our three-part Fall Faith &amp\; Ecology film series\, "Striving for Cli
mate Justice." On Monday Oct. 14 we'll show "Cowspiracy: The Sustainabilit
y Secret" and on Monday Oct. 21\, "The Reluctant Radical" at the same loca
 tion and time.
