In August 2014 master carver Jewell James carved a totem pole that traveled to South Dakota, Montana, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta, where it was erected at Beaver Lake Cree Nation. This film is about that journey and the voices of native and non-native communities along the route. Those communities are concerned about the impacts of the fossil fuel industry on their land and waters, especially the effects of coal trains and of extracting and shipping fuel from tar sands..
