SUMMARY:Other Side of the Hill - film showing and discussion
DESCRIPTION:\n\nPlease join us on Saturday July 24th for a showing of the p
owerful film Other Side of the Hill followed by a discussion.\n\nWhere ca
n East and West\, Republicans and Democrats\, find the common ground neede
d to address climate change? How can industry and environmentalists work h
and in hand? And how can local economies find opportunity in a lower emiss
ions future?\n\nOther Side of the Hill explores the impacts of a changing
climate in rural Eastern Oregon - as seen through the eyes of local leade
rs on the ground. From innovative timber operations in Wallowa County to l
arge scale solar in Lakeview\, we amplify the voices of rural communities
often left unheard. In a time of unprecedented cultural divide between rur
al and urban Oregon\, we find common ground in an urgency to address a cha
nging landscape.\n\nJoin us for a showing of the film\, a conversation wit
h the filmmakers and a live discussion outdoors at Northlake Unitarian Uni
versalist Church in Kirkland\, Washington. The film is also available for
you to watch on your own from July 10-25.\n\nRegister here to join us for
this important film.\n\nSchedule of events:\n\n July 10-25: Film availab
