SUMMARY:Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story
DESCRIPTION:\n\nFood. We love it.  So\, how come we throw nearly 40% of it
in the trash?\n\nFilmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the
issue of waste\nfrom farm\, through retail\, all the way to the back of th
eir own\nfridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of go
od\nfood that is tossed each year in North America\, they pledge to quit\n
grocery shopping cold turkey and survive only on foods that would\notherwi
se be thrown away. In a nation where one in 10 people is food\ninsecure\,
the images they capture of squandered groceries are both\nshocking and str
angely compelling. But as Grant’s addictive\npersonality turns full tilt
towards food rescue\, the “thrill of the\nfind” has unexpected conseq
uences.\n\nFeaturing interviews with TED lecturer\, author and activist Tr
istram\nStuart and acclaimed author Jonathan Bloom\, "Just Eat It" looks a
t our\nsystemic obsession with expiry dates\, perfect produce and portion\
nsizes\, and reveals the core of this seemingly insignificant issue that\n
is having devastating consequences around the globe. "Just Eat It"\nbrings
  farmers\, retailers\, inspiring organizations\, and consumers to\nthe tab
le in a cinematic story that is equal parts education and\ndelicious enter
 tainment.
