John Lewis: Get In The Way
PRESENTED BY: Online EventMeaningful Movies Bellevue hosts a Free Screening of John Lewis: Get In The Way (Virtual). Open to all ages.
Please join Meaningful Movies Bellevue for the 54-minute film John Lewis: Get In The Way from Bullfrog Films. Released in 2017, this was the first major documentary biography of the civil rights hero, congressional leader, and champion for human rights. John Lewis was the youngest speaker at the historic 1963 March on Washington and he led the Bloody Sunday march in Selma in 1965 where Alabama state troopers attacked peaceful protesters with billy clubs, bullwhips, and tear gas. He also fought tirelessly to expand and protect the rights of Black voters and other voters of color, so the film is especially important now!
Please join us for this remarkable documentary followed by a lively discussion afterwards. Open to all ages. We hope to see you on Tuesday, March 22nd, at 7:00 PM.
