This film explores the role of gender equity within Islam. Dr. Azizah Al-Hibri, a law professor and Islamic scholar, along with a group of female Islamic scholars, examine the impact cultural practices and patriarchal interpretations of the Koran have had in the treatment of Muslim women.

“Gender Equality in Islam” is part of the program, Meaningful Movies Matinee, a social justice documentary film and discussion series aimed at educating and engaging the Federal Way community every second Sunday.
