SUMMARY:Fish War
DESCRIPTION:Join us in-person on Friday\, November 14 at 5 PM at Shoreline
College Theatre for a FREE community screening event of FISH WAR as we exp
lore together an important part of history in Washington state. When the s
tate of Washington made it illegal for tribes to fish for salmon in their
usual and accustomed places\, it was a declaration of war. FISH WAR follow
s the tribes' fight to exercise their treaty-reserved fishing rights. A la
ndmark court case in 1974 would affirm the tribes’ treaty rights and est
ablish them as co-managers of the resource\, but the fate of salmon in the
Pacific Northwest still hangs in the balance. Panel Discussion following
the film.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThis isn’t just a film screening but a community
gathering.\n\n Purchase one of a kind handmade pieces by Native Artisans
.\n Drumming with the Muckleshoot Canoe Family.\n Meet and greet with so
