In Israel, religious courts are responsible for matters of marriage and divorce. According to Jewish law, only a husband can grant a divorce to his wife – even when the couple has been separated for years. Divorce Denied features the work of Orthodox lawyer Batya Kahana Dror as she advocates for women who have been denied a divorce.
