SUMMARY:Consumerism &amp\; the Limits to Imagination
DESCRIPTION:Consumer capitalism.  For many decades it has dominated our ec
onomy\, politics\, and culture.  Media scholar Justin Lewis argues that c
hanging this domination will require changing our culture.  He argues th
at our media limit critical thinking and keep us bound to a way of life
that mandates consume\, consume\, consume.   Change our culture and
transform our media and communications systems?  Is that even possible?\n
\nThis is a short film\, so there will probably also be a "short subject"
on the topic as well\, TBD.\n\nCommunity discussion after the films\, as
  usual.
