Coral reefs are dying around the world at an unprecedented rate. A building block of the marine ecosystem and crucial to the livelihoods of hundreds of millions of people around the world, coral reefs are one of the lifeforms we are most likely to lose if we reach 2Β°C of warming.

A team of divers and researchers launched an ambitious project to reveal the unseen story occurring beneath the water. Get to know the team, how they pulled it off, and how the project impacted them as they witnessed coral bleaching first-hand.

Their grief and our own are hard things to bear as we look the extinction crisis in the face. But by coming together to take collective action locally, we can begin to address the climate crisis and help protect the β€œtropical forests of the ocean.”
