The Meaningful Movies High School Group, MM Tacoma and MM Spokane invite you an unforgettable online screening of the feature documentary, Catching Bullets. A powerful documentary that highlights the gun violence epidemic in St. Louis, MO. The film follows Darren Seals of Sankofa Unity Center, a former gang member shot 13 times, as he rebuilds a church in an impoverished neighborhood, hoping to open a mentoring center. When Preston, the 15-year-old son of Darren’s late friend, is tempted by the allure of street-level drug dealing, Darren pledges to save Preston from winding up in a jail cell or worse.

Catching Bullets chronicles efforts to treat violence as a public health concern and endeavors to attach a human face to the issue of community gun violence. Director Ben Scholle in attendance.
