An Ordinary Hero: The True Story of Joan Trumpauer Mulholland – Conversation w/ Film Director
PRESENTED BY: Online EventThe Racial Justice Film Series is an ongoing event sponsored by Admiral Church and West Seattle Meaningful Movies. Our November feature is “An Ordinary Hero: The True Story of Joan Trumpauer Mulholland,” a southern white woman and American civil rights activist from Arlington, Virginia who risked her relationship with her wealthy family, her education at Duke University and placed her life in jeopardy in order to help create the change she wanted to see in the United States. Watch the film at your leisure at admiralchurch.org/events/ and then join us for a Zoom conversation about the film on Monday, November 9.
We will also provide an opportunity a week later to talk to the filmmaker, Loki Mulholland, Joan’s son, on Monday, November 16th at 8:00pm. This will be a unique opportunity to learn more about Joan through her son’s eyes and to find out more about the making of the film. We’re very excited to be able to offer this program to learn about an unsung American hero who stood up for what she believed to be right. Join the conversation HERE.
