Dear Meaningful Movies Supporter,

I’m excited to tell you that several generous supporters have offered a match of $5,000 for donations received by the end of December! Can we count on you to donate so we can receive this match?

I regularly hear from the volunteers at our Meaningful Movies venues about the impact their events are having in their communities and beyond; for example: 1) audience members at Meaningful Movies Tacoma wrote postcards to advocate for the breaching of the Lower Snake River dams to support salmon survival after seeing the film Dammed to Extinction2) audience members from Mt. Baker supported the organization Tsuru for Solidarity and planned protests at the Immigration Detention Center in Tacoma after the screening of Never Give Up: Minori Yasui and the Fight for Justice; and 3) an audience member in Issaquah who watched The Most Dangerous Year said she understood, for the first time, her trans-gender granddaughter. These are just a few of the many stories of the impact Meaningful Movies is having in our communities.

By the end of 2019, our 29 venues will have screened over 200 documentaries with over 9,500 attendees, and collaborated with over 150 organizations who provided speakers and resources for action. Your support made this happen!

With your donation today we can raise $10,000 which will help us continue to operate this powerful community asset. Any amount you can contribute will help us reach our donor match goal!

With gratitude,

Anne Miller, Manager, Meaningful Movies Project
